Jim Mennie

Assistant Professor

Professor James Mennie brings ample experience as a business leader and educator to his role teaching business courses at Florida Poly. The courses include:

Fundamentals of Applied Business
Applications for Business
Law, Public Policy, Negotiations, and Business
Principals of Financial Accounting
Six Sigma
Project Management
Managerial Accounting
International Business
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the State University of New York. His teaching experience includes working at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, international teaching experience at the Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea, and since 2010 as an adjunct business instructor at Hillsborough Community College.

Professor Mennie has 20 years of experience in improving a broad range of business operations including sales strategies, supplier relations, technology integration, and increased profitability. He was President of a Spring Hill, Florida, nursery where he developed and implemented a business plan creating the retail and custom design operation. Prior to that, he was Vice President of a family-run business where he helped to increase production, sales and profitability. He also was Director of Distribution and Facilities and Director of Operations at Manchester Technologies in New York.

Professor Mennie is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Business Administration with a concentration in Technology and expects to complete his degree by 2018.
