The Office of Research Services has implemented effort reporting in Workday to meet federal government requirements set forth in the Uniform Guidance (Subpart E §200.430).  Effort reporting verifies that direct labor charges to a sponsored project are accurate, timely, and reflect the actual level of work performed.

“Effort” is the portion of time spent on a particular activity, expressed as a percentage of the individual’s total activity for the University. For step-by-step instructions and visual aids please refer to the new job aid titled “Effort Certification v2020R1” found in Workday.
