Kris Wharton

Director, Office of the President and Board Operations

Kris Wharton provides specialized services and support to the president and board of trustees. She is a liaison among the president, board of trustees, the president’s cabinet, staff, academic units, and other similar groups and provides essential leadership with regard to the operations of and communication with the board of trustees.

Wharton is responsible to ensure progress on major university-wide initiatives as well as conduct special studies for the president on a wide range of subjects related to the overall management and operation of the university.  She also provides direction and executive oversight of the president’s administrative staff, daily office operations and office budgets.

Wharton chairs the Non-Academic Policy Review Committee, the ABLAZE Employee Awards Committee and serves as staff advisor to the Presidential Ambassadors.

Wharton came to Florida Polytechnic University in April 2013. She has more than 25 years of C-level experience which has included positions at non-profit organizations and managing her own businesses.
