Samuel de Oliveira joined Florida Polytechnic University as a laboratory technician in 2019. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2918 and subsequently completed a second internship at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, researching polymer degradation in solar panels. He also was a project manager at Phoslab Environmental. He previously worked as a teaching assistant at UCF for two semesters, and as a lab assistant at Polk State College for 17 months. During his last two years as an undergraduate, he was a research assistant for UCF’s mechanical and aerospace department and contributed in the investigation of ceramics for energy applications. That research led to the publication of 8 papers pertaining to porous media combustion and Raman spectroscopy, in which he was a co-author.
