More dates added for Civilian Active Assault training

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between October 22, 2018 and October 28, 2018.

The following classes have been added for the mandatory Civilian Active Assault Training:

  • Nov. 28, IST 1046, 12- 1:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 29, IST 1046, 12-1:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 3, IST 1047, 12-1:30 p.m.
  • Dec. 7, IST 1047, 12-1:30 p.m.

These four classes are in addition to the 14 announced last month and listed here.

If you haven’t already done so, register today through the online reservation system. Each class seats a maximum of 25 people.

As a reminder, to ensure all employees are aware and prepared to respond to potential threats, the University Police Department is offering Civilian Active Assailant training. Faculty, staff, OPS and student employees are required to attend one of the classes. The goal of this training is to teach employees how to recognize potential violence, understand what to expect from responding law enforcement officers, and learn how to protect themselves and others.
