April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and throughout the month we will hold multiple events for the campus community. Sexual misconduct has no place in our working, living, and learning environment and is absolutely unacceptable. At Florida Poly, we are committed to preventing all forms of sexual misconduct and to supporting survivors. Creating a positive, healthy environment for our faculty, staff, and students is our number one goal.
Everyone has a voice and it’s important to understand that it takes each person coming together to end sexual misconduct.
During this month, we want to show support for survivors and continue the conversation to end sexual violence. Please take part in any SAAM event that you can.
- Wednesday, April 14, 6-8 p.m. – Rise Up: SVP and Residential Life are hosting OneLove: Escalation to discuss dating violence
- Wednesday, April 21, 12-1 p.m. – Rise Up: SVP is hosting a bystander intervention workshop
- Wednesday, April 28 – Denim Day, so wear your denim to support survivors of sexual assault
Show your support, and we hope you can attend the events.
We strongly encourage all members of the campus community to promptly report sexual misconduct to the Title IX Coordinator, Michelle Disson. Here is the Online Report Form.
