The Engineering Physics Department hosted its second annual Sigma Pi Sigma Physics and Astronomy Honor Society induction event on campus on April 25, adding 12 new inductees to its rank. Congratulations to Dr. Nathan Dawson, Dr. Emadelden Fouad, Dr. Dhiraj Maheswari, and engineering physics students Austin Bowerman-Sullivan, Anand Dewansingh, Timothy Freeman, Madison Hendricks, Hazel Jones, David Sheffield, and Christian Stanfill.
The director of Sigma Pi Sigma and SPS from the national office in Washington, D.C. delivered his invited talk on internship opportunities, graduate school process, the forthcoming Physics Congress, statistical data from American Institute of Physics, and answered all of our student’s queries.
The Engineering Physics Department’s Sigma Pi Sigma Chapter was chartered on May 5, 2022, and 10-chapter alumni (engineering physics students) organized this year’s event with the sponsorship and support from faculty advisor Dr. Sesha Srinivasan.
