The Employee Engagement Team is thrilled to announce the 2024 Florida Polyween Contests! It’s time to unleash your spooky, creative and fun sides as we celebrate Halloween at Polyween. Whether you don ghostly garb, wicked witchy wear, or a costume bursting with creativity, we want to see your Halloween spirit! Join the fun and take a chance at winning some fang-tastic prizes!

This year’s Florida Polyween contest categories are

• Best Individual Costume: Show off your originality and creativity!
• Best Group Costume: Team up with friends or colleagues for a chance to win together!
• Door Décor: Let’s see your most creative and spooky door decorations!
• Pumpkin Carving Contest (individual): Show us your skills!

Contest Rules

1. Open to all University employees working on campus or remotely.
2. Costumes must be appropriate for the workplace and respectful of all cultures.
3. Jack-o’-lanterns brought to work and placed outside your office door on Oct. 31 should be free of any excess pumpkin goop and have no candles or open flames. All jack-o’-lanterns must be removed by the end of day on Oct. 31.
4. The contest ends at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.
5. One entry per category, per person.

Submit your entries via the Florida Polyween contest photo entry system between 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31.

Additional rules for the Door Décor contest

1. Decorations must adhere to workplace standards.
2. No damage should be caused to doors or surrounding walls
   • Use only clear tape or mounting putty for affixing decoration.
   • Do not use glue, nails, staples or other materials that could harm the door.
3. Decorations must not block office access or create a safety hazard.
4. Doors should be able to open and close fully, and windows should remain uncovered.
5. All decorations must be removed by Friday, Nov. 8.

Judging

•  Voting will be done electronically by all participants.
•  A voting link will be shared on Monday, Nov. 4, and voting will close at 5 p.m.
•  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Prizes

• Winners from each category will receive awards, and photos of the winners will be shared (first, second and third place).
