April 15 – Application deadline for international research opportunity

Students are invited to apply for the Global Industry Fellowship Research Internship at Applus+ IDIADA in Spain. Applications for the 16-week research internship are accepted through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. The internship will take place from May to August.

Program overview

The Global Industry Fellowship Research Internship at IDIADA in Spain engages undergraduate and graduate students with the Florida Polytechnic University Global Industry Network through an internship (four months term) focused on advanced research and applied industry experience. This program brings together high-achieving participants from diverse disciplines to drive interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and global engagement.

Fellows undertake rigorous professional training, supervised research, contribute to high-impact industry research initiatives, and gain direct industry exposure while expanding their international networks and cultural experience. This immersive model cultivates technical excellence, applied leadership skills, and a global strategic perspective aligned with today’s innovation-driven economy.

Following an application review by the Florida Poly–IDIADA working group, candidates are shortlisted for the interview stage. The selection committee then conducts a competitive matching process aligned with available research projects and faculty expertise at Applus+ IDIADA.

The program evaluates applicants based on academic achievement, professional potential, clarity of purpose, strength of references and demonstrated alignment with the proposed research project.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
  • Provide a statement of purpose outlining academic objectives and anticipated benefits of participation
  • Provide one academic or professional letter of reference
  • Be a sophomore or higher at the time of participation
  • Provide proof of enrollment in international health insurance prior to departure
  • Provide a passport copy
  • Comply with IDIADA regulations and appointment offer into the program
  • Complete the Florida Poly Study Abroad Approval Form, with all required signatures

All documents must be submitted to Study Abroad.

  • Curriculum Vitae or resume (2-page maximum)
  • Personal statement/program rationale (1-page maximum)
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Unofficial university transcripts
  • Completed study abroad approval form with all required signatures
