What would you do in an active assailant situation?

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between October 3, 2018 and October 8, 2018.

To ensure all employees are aware and prepared to respond to potential threats, the University Police Department is offering Civilian Active Assailant training. Faculty, staff, OPS, and student employees are required to attend one of the 14 available classes listed on the attached flyer.

Classes are filling up. Register today for the mandatory Civilian Active Assailant training by reserving your seat through this online reservation system. Each class seats a maximum of 25 people.

The goal of this training is to teach employees how to recognize potential violence, understand what to expect from responding law enforcement officers, and learn how to protect themselves and others.

For more information, contact the University Police Department at 863-874-8472 or by email.
