Book appointments for in-class student survey

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between February 11, 2020 and February 24, 2020.

Instructors can now book appointments for a Midterm Student Feedback Survey in their classes.

A Midterm Student Feedback Survey involves the Director of Teaching & Learning, Doug Holton, visiting your class and surveying your students for their feedback on your course. Afterward, you will be sent a summary of the feedback along with recommendations for addressing any potential issues. By surveying students earlier in the semester, there is still time to make changes to your course. Research studies (such as this one) show that midterm student feedback can improve student satisfaction and learning. The three question survey asks:

  1. What do you like most about this course?
  2. What about this course needs change or improvement?
  3. What suggestions can you offer that would help make this course a better learning experience for you?

It is recommended that you book your surveys to occur before spring break.

Please contact Doug Holton if you have any questions.
