September 20, 2022

New requirements for remote connection to the University network coming on Monday, Oct. 3.

In order to comply with new standards for security of remote network connections over the Virtual Private Network (VPN), beginning Monday, Oct. 3, the Florida Poly VPN system will require multi-factor authentication for employees when connecting via the VPN. The Global Protect software login will now use Microsoft Authenticator, in addition to username and password, to complete the authorization for the connection.

If you use Global Protect and are not already using Microsoft Authenticator for other purposes, you should pre-load the Microsoft Authenticator app on your smartphone in order to prepare for this change. Refer to the IT knowledge base for more information on Microsoft Authenticator and the Global Protect software. Note that the VPN will use Microsoft Authenticator, not DUO, to complete the connection.
