Reapply to Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between September 29, 2020 and October 12, 2020.

Now is the time to reapply for federal financial aid. The 2021-22 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available beginning October 1. Reapplying to FAFSA is crucial because it is the gateway to all federal money including loans, work-study, and grants. The sooner you apply, the more financial aid will likely be available.

The steps are easy!

  • Step 1: Renew your FAFSA for 2021-22 by logging in at fafsa.ed.gov with your FSA ID username and password, or use the myStudentAid mobile app for iOS and Android.
  • Step 2: Use 2019 income tax information to complete the FAFSA. Tax filers may have the ability to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to automatically import their tax information into the FAFSA. This is quicker than entering the fields manually and minimizes potential for error.
  • Step 3: Choose to send your FAFSA to Florida Polytechnic University by entering our school code: 042634.
  • Step 4: Be sure to fully sign and submit your FAFSA by using your FSA ID and password. You will receive a confirmation at the end.

You will receive an email from the Department of Education letting you know your FAFSA has been processed (typically within three business days). You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that summarizes your information and estimated eligibility for federal student aid.
