You are invited to attend the Mechanical, Aerospace and Industrial Engineering Graduate Seminar on the topic of self-efficacy, accessibility and AI in engineering education.
Dr. Lauren Fogg, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, will lead the seminar on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m.-Noon in IST 1014.
This event will feature Fogg’s research on student success in engineering education spanning self-efficacy, accessibility and the emerging role of AI in the engineering classroom. She will go over her current and future research projects, which include a study measuring tactile, 3D-printed materials for improving comprehension for visually impaired engineering students; a cross-university study looking at how self-efficacy varies across courses and platforms; and work on how to improve classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
Fogg will also discuss past work such as cognitive modeling, spatial visualizations and literature surveys on student misconceptions. The seminar will conclude with ways for current students to get involved with ongoing and future research projects.
