With the month of May behind us, it’s important that we recognize that mental health awareness is not just something to be done during the month of May. This awareness should be approached daily with how we live and how we interact with friends, family, and coworkers.

Final thought: Focus on your five senses. A grounding method used for managing anxiety is the 5-4-3-2-1 method. When faced with moments of anxiety, pause to name five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste. Taking time to observe our senses can be helpful at any time. You can also take five minutes to reflect on things in your life that bring you joy. Being in the here and now is one mindful way to practice grounding ourselves. Florida Poly Phoenix, remember to take care of yourself, engage people in conversation, be social media conscious, and find time to reflect on the moments and people in your life for which you are grateful.
