Technology Services is enabling two new security features – Safe Links and Safe Attachments – to protect your email inbox from malicious email.

Safe Links: Links in an email message are rewritten to pass through the Safe Links service by prepending the link with ‘https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com’. If the link is found to contain malicious content, you’ll be stopped from continuing.

Safe Attachments: Attachments will go through additional scanning to look for malicious content or scripts. This process is normally quick but can sometimes take several minutes. During this time, the e-mail message will be delivered normally but the attachment will be renamed to ‘ATP Scan in Progress’. You may click the ‘Preview’ link to preview the attachment immediately. Once the scan is complete, the e-mail message will be automatically updated with the full attachment.
