Nov. 2 (6 p.m. ET) is the last day to make changes to your medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits, as well as flexible spending and health savings accounts, and to add or drop coverage for eligible dependents. Elections made during Open Enrollment are effective on Jan. 1 of the following year. Outside the annual Open Enrollment period, employees may only make changes to their benefits elections within 60 days of a Qualifying Status Change (QSC) event.
People First created a video to assist with making changes to your insurance benefits. Take a moment to view the How to Enroll in Insurance Benefits video. Navigate the video by selecting items on the menu screen.
We encourage you to make your elections as early as possible in case you need assistance from the People First Service Center.
You may visit My Benefits or view the Benefits Guide for the Plan Year 2019 to learn what’s new in this Open Enrollment period. Changes can be made to your benefits through the People First online portal.
The State of Florida manages our state benefits, and it does not offer an extension when a deadline is missed for Open Enrollment. Employees will have to wait until the next year’s Open Enrollment period. However, if you experience a Qualifying Status Change (QSC) event and request a change within the QSC window, you are permitted to change a benefit election.
