Phone scams targeting college students

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between September 29, 2020 and October 12, 2020.

Many phone scams exist targeting college students. Be vigilant about calls asking for personal information or payment for services you aren’t aware of.

Common examples of phone scams include FBI or IRS representatives demanding payment, receiving new federal grant awards, and more. You can review recent consumer alerts here.
