On May 6, 2020, the Department of Education released new Federal Regulations with its Title IX Final Rule. The Department of Education provided this rule that made clear definitions, jurisdiction and procedures for a Title IX incident. Florida Poly does not discriminate on the basis of sex, including sexual misconduct.

Since the release date, we have been working to update our Florida Poly policies and procedures to align with the new Title IX Rule, in addition to maintaining protections for sexually explicit incidents. The updated policy FPU-1.005P Sexual Misconduct went out for review and comments to the campus.  Maintaining the Department of Education’s enforcement date of Aug. 14, 2020, our Florida Poly policy was signed into adoption on Aug. 13, 2020.

During the fall 2020 semester, there will be training, educational opportunities, and programming that will go into the details of the policy and procedures.
