Spring 2021 registration waitlist reminders

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between November 24, 2020 and December 7, 2020.

November 24, 2020

As you register for your Spring 2021 courses, please remember the following items if you add yourself to a waitlist in CAMS:

  • Do not add yourself to the waitlist if you are already registered for a section of that class within the same term.
    • You will remain in the class and section you are already registered for and you will be removed from the waitlisted section.
  • Do not add yourself to the waitlist for a class that conflicts with any other registered or waitlisted class.
    • You will not be added to a class that causes a schedule conflict and you will be removed from the waitlisted section.
  • Do not add yourself to the waitlist for multiple sections of the same class.
    • You will remain on the waitlist for one section, chosen randomly, and will be removed from the others.
  • Do not remain on a waitlist for classes you are no longer interested in.
    • If you are next in line on a waitlist for an available seat, it is assumed that you want to be added to that class. It is your responsibility to drop the course by the drop/add deadline if you do not want to take it.
    • If you remove yourself from a waitlist and then add yourself back to the same waitlist, you will lose your original position in line.

Notifications will not be sent out if any of the above waitlist violations are identified. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they are enrolled in appropriate classes by the end of the published registration deadlines. If you have done any of the above, please adjust your course selections so that we may better assist you with your scheduling needs.

If you have any questions about waitlists, email the Registrar’s Office.
