Spring semester parking changes

This notice appeared in the Weekly Phoenix between January 4, 2022 and January 14, 2022.

As a result of student input and based on parking lot usage data, the Parking Committee and cabinet approved a spring semester pilot program that implements the following changes:

Lot 3 behind Residence Halls:

  • One 15-minute loading/unloading space will be added near each Residence Hall to provide a space for residents to park while loading and unloading items. To ensure the spaces are used for their intended purpose, vehicles remaining in the space more than 15 minutes may be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • The signs for 11 previously designated faculty/staff spaces will be removed behind Phase 2 and those spaces will be general parking spaces that can be used by students.
  • Eight of the visitor-only spaces will be changed to hybrid spaces where faculty/staff or visitors may park.

In addition, the Parking Committee proposed and received approval to make changes in Lots 1 and 2.  Five visitor-only spaces in each lot will become hybrid spaces that which can be used by either faculty/staff or visitors.

As part of the pilot program, Parking and Transportation will continue to monitor usage in the affected areas.

Parking and Transportation is working with Facilities to make the necessary changes to the spaces and install the appropriate signage. If you have any questions, contact Parking and Transportation at parking@floridapoly.edu .
