Human Resources announces training for managers and supervisors on delivering effective performance evaluations (for staff personnel).
Performance Evaluations provide an opportunity for managers and employees to openly and constructively discuss performance expectations, goals, and career aspirations in a positive and engaging manner. Effective performance evaluations should serve to codify the ongoing conversations held between the employee and supervisor throughout the appraisal period – presenting both with the chance to discuss strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for professional growth and development. Preparation and honest assessment are essential to the process. In this class, managers will enhance their familiarity with our evaluation process, learn how to set SMART goals, gain insight into common evaluative errors, and discuss the potential ramifications that may occur when evaluations do not accurately reflect one’s performance and contributions.
Training will be offered at Main Campus and Florida Poly South, and will be delivered in a Brown Bag, Lunch & Learn format. The dates for these classes are as follows:
- Wednesday, Feb. 19, Florida Poly South (LTB 2117), 11:30 a.m.
- Friday, Feb. 21, Main Campus (WEL 1146), 11:30 a.m.
All new and current managers are encouraged to register for this class. Sign up for the location most convenient to you here!
