Feb. 11-Phoenix Talks: Black Women-Dawn of a New Era

Phoenix Talks is a series of workshops designed to have serious dialogue about a topic. We continue to celebrate Black History Month with this fantastic program.

On Thursday, Feb. 11, we will have a panel discussion sponsored by NSBE about Black women and how their demographic has changed in the last decade. The event will held in IST 1012 from 7-8 p.m.

We will have the following guests in our panel for discussion with students:

  1. Elizabeth Leiba, founder of Black History & Culture Academy
  2. Pairris Jones, associate director of career development at Florida Polytechnic University
  3. Staci Campbell, behavioral health nurse manager for Lakeland Regional Health
  4. Jackye Maxey, president of Kiwanis Club of Lakeland
  5. Jennifer Lee, professor at Florida Polytechnic University

This session will be virtual as well as in person.

Masks are required to attend this event in person. Social distancing must be maintained at all times. Hand sanitizer will be provided. Frequent hand washing is encouraged.
